An Object of Vision
A simple operation embeds a speck-sized camera lens into the cornea and wires a nanocomputer the size of a DNA strand into the optic nerve. The result is a heads-up display in your vision, controlled through a series of eye twitches, a computer at your bidding: always recording, a constant witness.
My cyberpunk Perseus/Medusa story: a fixer tries to find a virus that could infect the visual computers implanted in everyone’s eyes, that could turn everyone to stone.
Read if you like: William Gibson but make it more mythy; people whose uppance has come; the office scenes in Blade Runner.
